The OWActive Mineral Climate Ceiling wins the 2023 Green GOOD DESIGN Sustainability Award in the Green Product category.

Founded in Chicago in 1950, GOOD DESIGN is the oldest of the world’s established award programs for innovative and visionary product design. Since 2007, the GREEN GOOD DESIGN Awards honors those products and projects that are fully sustainable and, thanks to the highest standards, proven to be good for the environment.

The sustainable design award at this year’s Green GOOD DESIGN Awards recognizes a holistic view in products and design. How our choices now impact the future.

“According to the World Commission on Environment and Development, sustainability is a form of development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. Effective sustainable design is a comprehensive approach to the selection and integration of products and processes that takes into account the long-term satisfaction of consumers and the preservation of the environment” – Christian Narkiewicz-Laine (American architecture critic, journalist and curator).

Hundreds of products and projects from over 42 countries were submitted for the GREEN GOOD DESIGN Award 2023 to highlight the most advanced “green approach” and the most sophisticated methods and technologies. As the winner in the Green Product 2023 category, the OWActive mineral climate ceiling was able to reconfirm its future viability.

With the ability to reduce room temperature by 2 to 3 °C without sacrificing individual comfort, OWActive makes a significant contribution to energy efficiency and is a sustainable architectural solution. Additionally, the OWActive Mineral Climate Ceiling contributes to the circular economy, which on the one hand helps to reduce energy when in use, but also closes material cycles in production via the OWA green circle take-back system.
