​Outstanding achievements

The German Design Award is one of the most recognised design competitions worldwide and enjoys a reputation that goes far beyond specialist circles. Its aim is to discover, present and award unique design trends.

Every two years at the world's leading trade fair BAU in Munich, the BAKA Bundesverband Altbauerneuerung e.V. (German association for building renovation) awards the BAKA Award for Product Innovation. The international award focuses on innovative and sustainable products. OWA received the renowned BAKA Award for its Corpus ceiling canopy from the OWAconsult collection designed by Hadi Teherani, with the commendation as aesthetic, three-dimensional acoustic elements including lighting as modular construction kit.

The Industrie Forum Design Award is for achievements in the field of design. Since 1954, the award has been presented annually for achievements in the field of product design.

The award for pioneering design. If the "Red Dot" is already considered the crowning glory for creativity in the design world, then the "Red Dot: Best of the Best", as the competition's highest award, clearly sets the benchmark another notch higher. The Red Dot expert jury awards the internationally recognised seal of quality only to the best products in a category.

The Association of German Interior Designers (bdia) annually awards prizes to products that particularly impress the jurors. With its innovative Corpus ceiling system, OWA was able to win the "bdia ausgesucht! 2018" competition this year.

Our products comply with EU directives. OWA was the first company in its sector to introduce CE marking based on the European standard EN 13964.

Transparency in product composition

OWA mineral ceilings are free of asbestos and formaldehyde. General technical approval from the German Institute for Structural Physics is available. The mineral wool used to manufacture the panels is bio-soluble.

Together with WETEC (Wet-felt Technical Committee), OWA supports sustainable building through an environmental product declaration with the IBU (institute for building and environment).

This symbol stands for low-emission building products. An award of the eco-label also recognises the use of non-hazardous raw materials. The criteria for non-classification as a carcinogenic substance according to the Hazardous Substances Ordinance (Annex II, No. 5, biopersistent fibres) and the European Regulation 1272/2008 (Note Q) are met and guaranteed by the RAL quality mark "products made of mineral wool".

With its Ensured Sustainability (Gesicherte Nachhaltigkeit) label, the German Institute for Sustainability & Economy (Deutsches Institut für Nachhaltigkeit & Ökonomie) certifies that OWA has undergone a detailed sustainability impact assessment in the areas of ecology, economy and social competence (quality of products, services and consultancy as well as future commercial orientation, corporate management and ecological and social responsibility).
