  • Medical Centre, Mittenwald – Reception

Acoustic ceilings in non-rectangular spaces often pose a difficult aesthetic challenge. Unless, that is, the ceiling layout departs from the typical chequer-board pattern, which was done here with trapezoidal ceiling tiles during the design and construction of the reception areas in this medical centre.

    Installation with a proven system

In contrast to the reception areas, the treatment rooms use a traditional rectangular ceiling with the OWAline system S 15b and  Sinfonia which fits in well with the rectangular room layout and supports the quiet, neutral atmosphere.

    Acoustics as a visual quality

Doctor’s surgeries in particular need a relaxed underlying atmosphere that makes calm work and trustworthy, discrete conversation possible. The example from Miltenberg shows how acoustic ceilings can give speaking and listening a suitable framework, and at the same time transport the visual design.

The acoustic ceiling in the Opus exposed-concrete look cites the materiality of the plank-connected in-situ concrete on the stairwell walls without, however, imitating them.

The S19 ceiling system with the Cosmos surface pattern was used in the treatment rooms. Light surfaces that call forth a neutral ceiling look, visually retreating behing technology of the treatment spaces.

    Healthy benefits

Physicians, caregivers and administration staff members, visitors and of course the patients – they should all feel comfortable in the clinical environment. Especially comfortable. The  Humancare ceiling tiles offer a sense of well-being under the toughest of hygiene conditions. Their microbicidal features are effective against bacteria, fungi and yeasts.
