Fair faced concrete, granite and a lot of glass determines the architecture of the building. In the Bank Call-Centre, the difficulty in concentrating while working was attributed to the hard sound-reflecting surfaces.
An active heating / cooling concrete soffit precluded the installation of a closed suspended ceiling as a solution.
System S 12d vertical hung baffles in combination with high-absorbing OWAcoustic® wall absorbers were put into action. The use of a ‘Double Strategy’ – using walls and ceilings to lower the reverberation time, resulted in a reverberation time of 0.65 s against 1.03 s prior to installing the acoustic measures.
